As Programme Director

I offer festivals:

  • Exploration, identification and development of themes, trends and key ideas for a book programme.
  • Access to a long history and network with all book chiefessays.net industry stakeholders, including booksellers, publishers, poets, illustrators, suppliers and of course, authors.

  • Professional project completion and closure, including thank you’s, feedback and final payments


Experience highlights

2017 – NIROX|WORDS  

  • NIROX|WORDS Festival at the NIROX Sculpture Park at UNESCO heritage site – the Cradle of Humankind, 21 and 22 October.
  • Fusion events successfully paired books with other arts buying thesis disciplines to include art, sculpture, performance art, spoken word, and music.
  • Fascinating collaborations between artists and writers, books and other expressions of the written word
  • Keynote participants TaiyeSelasi and Willem Boshoff
  • Diverse, top end audience across 20 book events



  • South African Book Fair at the award-winning preserved and restored historic Turbine Hall, situated in the heart of the arts and culture precinct of Newtown, Johannesburg
  • On average 60 attendees per event
  • Strong education programme with both advantaged and disadvantaged schools
  • String collaboration with Mail & Guardian Literary Fest
  • Established bookfair presence in Gauteng
